If you saw “They Went That-A-Way and That-A-Way” in December, 1978 (those were the days where a lot of movies were still released regionally), it didn’t open in theaters in Western PA until March, 1979 — that’s when I first saw it.

  21. fivebearrugs says:

And he was Poppy on Seinfeld :)

  22. nravari1 says:

this is hilarious in a very strange way. . i’m a dentist so I can appreciate how a laymen can have no idea how to do this ;)

Cannonball Taylor has been in a mess of Westerns, too. I used to like to hear him say. . . “Wy. . . Beeel” for Wild Bill.

Sony introduced the first widespread video cassette in 1969 and The first domestic videocassette were launched in the early 1970s and beta came out in 1975. The Carol Burnett show aired September 11, 1967 March 29, 1978 on fridays at 9:00pm and Tim Conways They Went That-A-Way & That-A-Way came out on December 1978 so the show was before the movie and this was based from the skit on the show.

  25. MalubaySyecado says:

This skit is often said to be the funniest bit from the Carol Burnett Show so it was recreated here in They Went That-A-Way & That-A-Way with Dub Taylor filling in for Harvey Korman. Comedians like Abbott & Costello and Jerry Lewis often recreated their best routines in films. Also, this was before video stores, VHS or the Carol Burnett show was even in syndication, so it is doubtful that the kids who went to see this movie remembered or caught the original which ran at a late time.
